Significantly increase dedicated funding for endometriosis
- Increase ring-fenced funding for endometriosis research through UK research bodies.
- Support the development of faster, non-invasive diagnostic methods.
- Invest in better treatment options and long-term care strategies.
- Improve education and training for healthcare professionals.
Despite its prevalence, endometriosis remains significantly under-researched and poorly understood. On average, it takes around 7–10 years to receive a diagnosis in the UK. During this time, many individuals experience severe pain, fatigue, infertility, and a reduced quality of life, often impacting education, employment, and mental health.
Current treatment options are limited and there is no known cure. Many patients undergo repeated surgeries or rely on hormonal treatments which do not work.
