Secure Jobs for newly qualified Midwives in Wales.

Petition Details

We want the Welsh Government to ensure that newly qualified midwives in 2026 are able to transition into NHS Wales roles as originally intended.

Additional Information

We would like you to provide immediate, ring-fenced funding to NHS Wales health boards to recruit newly qualified midwives from the 2026 cohort.
Transparency from Health Education and Improvement Wales
“Require clear, transparent communication from HEIW and health boards about job availability and workforce planning. Align training with workforce planning.
Ensure that commissioned training places are properly aligned with actual workforce capacity to prevent this situation happening again.”
