Fund Free Childcare for all Full-Time Student Parents (Not Means Tested)
Fund free childcare for parents who are full-time students. This support should not be means tested. Many student parents struggle to continue their education because childcare costs are too high. Current support is limited, excluding full-time students or depends on income thresholds.
Providing free childcare could help student parents complete their education, improve their future employment prospects, reduce financial pressure on families, and increase access to higher education. We do not think student parents should be forced to choose between caring for their children and completing their studies. We believe student parents are investing in their future and the future of the economy, and they should not be prevented from accessing education because they cannot afford childcare.
