Legislate to allow additional vehicle lighting for Community First Responders
Legislate to allow volunteer ambulance community responders in trust approved & marked vehicles to use additional lighting ONLY to make progress to category 1 (highest priority) emergency calls. They are volunteers who support their local community by attending medical emergencies.
Currently even though we are able to drive in marked vehicles and use the NHS crest and logo's we are not able to utilize any form of additional lighting. We are not asking for blue lights and a siren, but the opportunity to make quicker progress to the most serious incidents such as cardiac arrest by better indicating to others on the road that it is an emergency. Seconds can mean the difference between life and death.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
