Guarantee Specialist Endometriosis Care/Access and Mandatory Training in the UK
Ensure fair access to accredited specialist endometriosis centres.
Introduce mandatory endometriosis training for GPs, nurses, and frontline clinicians.
Improve referral pathways to reduce delays in diagnosis and treatment.
Set UK‑wide standards for waiting times for specialist assessment.
Endometriosis affects 1.5 million people in the UK, yet access to specialist care is limited and uneven. Diagnosis takes an average of 8 years, and many patients are misdiagnosed or dismissed. The pain is often compared to kidney stones, appendicitis, or labour contractions, yet patients wait years for specialist review. Mandatory training and better access would reduce misdiagnosis, emergency visits, and long‑term complications.
