Ban horse racing, horse abuse
Introduce a phased UK ban on horse racing, with immediate reforms: end high-risk races, ensure transparency on deaths, and stop slaughter. Redirect funding to horse welfare and worker transition, reduce gambling reliance, strengthen protections, and raise public awareness of animal harm.
Horse racing causes consistent harm: 214 horses died in 2024, over 100 in 2025, and dozens already in 2026. Fatalities at major events show this isn’t rare. Many suffer severe injuries or are later slaughtered when unprofitable. The sport is tied to heavy gambling, raising ethical concerns. Horses are sentient beings forced into risk for profit this is no longer acceptable.
