Petition Action

1.4 mil homes approved already! Build them before asking councils for more sites

Petition Details

Introduce legislation to bring in immediate strict time frames for builds to be completed on the 1.4 million homes already approved.
Cancel all new, unnessary, green belt proposals currently being put forward and cancel all of the most recent local plans asking councils for additional sites.

Additional Information

There are already over 1 million approved builds, these should be built and 90% occupied before any further brownfield building sites are requested through local plans from councils.
The infrastructure already simply can't cope.
Within that, irreversible legislation should be brought in to protect farmland and green belt in the future without the threat of redesignation to grey belt. The only exception being new self sufficient towns/villages more than 10 miles away from existing populated areas
