Change the regulations for PET Travel from the UK to the EU
The Government should negotiate a veterinary agreement with the European Union that would allow for mutual recognition of pet passports, or introduce a practical and reusable UK equivalent rather than having to issue a new Health Certificate for your pets every time you travel from the UK to the EU.
The current situation places financial and administrative burdens on ordinary people
and it is very difficult to accept that the UK is being treated as a “third country” for pet travel
purposes, effectively grouped with countries that have very different animal health profiles. The UK is rabies-free and maintains extremely high animal health standards. The current policy does not reflect this reality and appears disproportionate.
