Allow women in the UK to carry Pepper Spray for the purposes of self-defence

Petition Details

Make it legal for women in the UK to carry pepper spray for the purpose of self-defence. As it stands, carrying pepper spray is illegal. This needs to change.

Additional Information

With the discovery of the rape academy website, violence against women and girls is a far bigger issue than we ever thought. Misogynist rhetoric is damaging how women are seen in society and too many men think rape and other crimes against women is acceptable. Women need to be able to defend themselves. Using pepper spray could allow a woman to escape a dangerous situation.
