Extend the weekend to include Friday and shorten workweeks to support families.
We ask the UK Government to extend the weekend to include Friday and shorten the working and school week. This would give families more time together, reduce pressure on parents, and create a fairer balance between work, school, and home life.
We want the Government to extend the weekend to include Friday and shorten the work and school week so families have more time together and less daily pressure. Many parents struggle to balance long hours with school schedules, and this change would ease stress, improve wellbeing, and create a fairer, more supportive routine for children and working families.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the days people work or attend school are a matter for individuals and their employers and schools, not the UK Government or Parliament.
