We want legislation for mandatory sentencing in all rape cases in the UK.
We want the UK government to review the law regarding rape cases to ensure that there is mandatory sentencing for rape in the United Kingdom. A sensible discussion on sentencing and ultimately a vote in the house of commons on this matter.
Currently there is no mandatory sentencing at all for rape in the UK.
This petition is similar to others out there, which are simply not getting publicity or shared online. Let's work together to change this and make rapists pay for their crimes knowing that they will go to jail if found guilty. Please share the petition with anyone you can and please ask them to do the same. Thank you.

We are not clear what action you are seeking from the UK Government or Parliament.
There are already sentencing guidelines that judges have to have regard to in determining the sentence. We are not clear what sentence you would like to be made mandatory in these cases.
You can start a new petition setting out more clearly what you would like UK Government or Parliament to do.
