Save Coventry Swimming Baths from demolition.
We call on Coventry City Council and relevant planning authorities to halt the demolition of Coventry’s historic swimming baths on Fairfax Street and fully explore viable alternatives for restoration, reuse, or partial preservation.
While the council argues that maintenance costs are high and redevelopment is needed, many residents believe demolition should be the absolute last resort. Community groups and heritage organisations have already raised concerns that: alternative uses have not been fully explored, redevelopment plans remain unclear, and demolition would permanently erase a significant part of Coventry’s architectural heritage.
