Petition Action

Debate the 1965 Lancaster House Agreement and the misleading of Parliament.

Petition Details

Parliament must debate the 1965 Lancaster House deal, as misleading the Queen and Parliament renders 1968 Mauritius independence void ab initio. Fraus omnia corrumpit applies; the detachment violated the Colonial Boundaries and Colonial Laws Validity Acts. Investigate this constitutional nullity.

Additional Information

Parliament must debate the 1965 Lancaster House deal, as misleading the Queen and Parliament renders 1968 independence void ab initio. Fraus omnia corrumpit applies; the detachment violated the Colonial Boundaries and Colonial Laws Validity Acts. Lacking a formal referendum, the 1967 General Election was used as a deceptive "proxy referendum," and the secret £3 million payment in 1966 further invalidates the mandate. We call for a formal investigation into this constitutional nullity.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We are not clear what action you are seeking. The petitions process allows a petitioner to request that the UK Government or Parliamentary takes action in relation to an issue, via a debate in Parliament. Therefore calling for a debate about holding a debate is not a clear action.

You can start a new petition setting out more clearly what you would like the UK Government or Parliament to do.
