Keep Sir Winston Churchill on UK bank notes
Retain famous historical figures on UK bank notes who have influenced our history and not replace with animals and insects voted for by just a few thousand people.
Sir Winston Churchill is not a difficult or divisive figure. Without him, probably the most influential and greatest person of the last century, we would be speaking German and not have a multicultural society.
We also owe a great debt to Alan Turing a famous mathematician who changed the course of World War 2, who was also gay and poorly treated at the time but is now celebrated. We used to have Florence Nightingale and I remembered her values whenever I saw her figure on the notes.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Banknotes are the responsibility of the Bank of England, which is independent of the Government and Parliament.
