Petition Action

King Charles to dissolve Parliament and call a General Election immediately

Petition Details

We, the undersigned British citizens and residents, call upon His Majesty King Charles III to exercise his constitutional powers to dissolve the current Parliament and call a general election immediately.

Additional Information

The present Government has failed to deliver on key promises made to the electorate and the country faces significant challenges. Many citizens feel that the current Parliament no longer adequately represents the will of the people. It is essential that the British public be given the opportunity to have their say through a fresh general election. We urge the King to act in the best interests of the nation by dissolving Parliament without delay.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't publish petitions that request actions by the King, as these are decisions for the crown, and not the Government or House of Commons.

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or the House of Commons, you could sign or start a petition about that.
