Call a General Election so we can choose who is the New Prime Minister
The resignation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer raises an important question about democratic legitimacy. While the UK constitution allows the governing party to choose a new leader without a general election, the British public should have the final say on who governs the country.
Why Britain Should Have a General Election Following Keir Starmer's Resignation
1. The Public Voted for a Government Led by Keir Starmer
2. Restoring Trust in Politics
3. A New Prime Minister May Have Different Policies
4. A Fresh Democratic Mandate
5. Let the People Decide
In a democracy, political power ultimately belongs to the people. When the individual occupying the nation's highest political office resigns, there should be a general election.
