Petition Action

Hold a binding vote in Parliament to have a General Election if the PM changes

Petition Details

With Keir Starmer standing down and Labour looking for a new leader (who will become PM). We ask that Parliament hold a binding vote on an immediate General Election should a Labour Leader be elected who did not stand on the 2024 Labour manifesto.

Additional Information

With the mooted changes to the Prime Minister following Keir Starmer's resignation we call on the Government to hold a binding vote on holding an immediate General Election in the following circumstances:

1. That a new Labour leader is elected amongst the Parliamentary Labour Party and;
2. That Labour MP was not elected under the 2024 manifesto (for example, Andy Burnham MP)
