Petition Action

National Service for young criminals

Additional Information

In the light of the rioting in London I would like to propose the implementation of forced National Service (minimum one year) for anyone aged 16 or above as an option for the judiciary to be imposed instead of the current weak or ineffective sentences or 'warnings' given.

It's clear that the majority of such young troublemakers are simply lacking discipline, routine and respect, they would without doubt come out of such a forced regime with a new mindset.

One bonus to this idea is that during their National Service they would earn only a very small wage (if any) which would help to reduce the running cost of the armed forces.
