Offence of concealing your identity in a public place.
Petition to require: The introduction of legislation to make it an offence to deliberately conceal your identity in a public place.
This to include all manner of facial coverings whether by the use of masks, make-up, balaclavas, oversize hoods and other head dress or ‘religious’ veils and scarves or similar.
The intention of the petition being to permit improved social interaction and the easier identification of the increasing number of people whose identity is deliberately concealed for illegal motives.
There should be only very few exceptions to accommodate occupational circumstances (e.g. emergency service personnel's use of safety equipment).
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
