Petition Action

Return power to the Police

Additional Information

We should re-empower the Police to carry out their duties, without fear of being sued for using what should be deemed as reasonable force.

The Police have come under some criticism for 'not doing anything' to stop some of the rioters, firstly I do not believe this to be true, secondly if they could actually use reasonable force against these mindless thugs, then perhaps the Police would re-gain the respect they had and instil a healthy level of fear in would be criminals.

I do NOT condone mindless violence, we, as decent human beings do not want to lower ourselves to the level of the scum that has hit our streets, but the Police should be able to do their already tough job without fear of ending up in court for enforcing justice and protecting decent citizens.

The ‘nanny state’ ruled by over the top ‘human rights’ has to change.

I am not a Police officer, or anyway affiliated with them, but do have a healthy level of respect for the work that they do.
