Combine e-petitions that relate to the same matter
There are too many e-petitions being created that relate to the same topics. Users should be checking is there is an existing petition to sign, but generally this does not happen.
By creating a duplicate petition you could actually be hampering the chances of it being discussed .
If there are 4x petitions relating to the same topic, each with 20,000 signatures, none of them will be likely to be discussed.
Combine these together and you instantly have 1 petition with 100,000 signatures to reach the benchmark required.
Petitions should be moderated and combined where appropriate in order to deliver a greater opportunity of the petition reaching debate.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
