Guilty rioters? - Send them to military school.
Alternative petitions (i.e. remove benefits) suggest punishments for the rioters of August 2011 that take something away from the guilty parties.
We should not take something away, we should give them something. That something is the respect for authority and society that, thanks in part to the parents, the rioters do not have.
If we send them to jail they will simply come out 6 weeks later even more disillusioned of and disaffected by society. Additionally, the cost to the taxpayer would be enormous.
Therefore, spending that money on educating those guilty parties through military schools, rather than putting them through a prison system that doesn't work, is advised.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
